Malik ibn Anas (ra) said: "Whoever does not love knowledge, then there is no good in him; so there should not be any acquaintance between you and him, and nor any friendship." (Khatib, al-Faqih wa'l-Mutafaqqih, 1/ 15; Mabaahith fi Ahkaam al-Fatwa, 12)

It was related from Abd-Allah bin Amrw that RasulAllah (saw) said: "Indeed Allah, Lofty and Exalted is He, created 3 things with His Hand: He created Adam (as) with His Hand, He wrote the Tawrah with His Hand, and He planted the Garden of Adn with His Hand." (Daraqutni, as-Sifaat, 45, # 26; Bayhaqi, al-Asmaa wa's-Sifaat, 403; Ibn Taymiyyah, Aqidatu'l-Wasitiyyah)

It was related from Ibn Umar (ra) that he said: "Allah created 4 things with His Hand: The Throne, the Pen, Adam (as), and the Garden of Adn. Then He said to the rest of creation: ‘Be’. Thus it was." (adh-Dhahabi, al-Uluw)

Ibn Umar (ra) said: “Allah created 4 things with His Hand: The Throne, the Garden of Adn, Adam (as), and the Pen; and He was veiled from the creation with 4: Fire, darkness, light, and darkness.” (Hakim, Mustadrak, # 3202; Bayhaqi, al-Asmaa wa's-Sifaat, # 677)

"O my people! Truly I do fear for you something like the Day (of disaster) of the Confederates (in sin)! Something like the fate of the People of Nuh, the Ad, and the Thamud, and those who came after them: but Allah never wishes injustice to His servants."
